Ruining my Dishwasher
1st off, 6 month old dishwasher, top of the line model... I start to notice a light residue on our dishes and think "no big deal". Then the film gets worse, and I begin to notice discoloration of the inside of our dishwasher. I use the recommended vinegar treatment and don't think much of it because it fixed the discoloration of the dishwasher, but our dishes would still have a light film. Fast forward 30 days... Our dishes are permanently stained with the white film (including dishwasher safe china), and there is a thick coating stuck to practically every surface of the dishwasher. My appliance repair guy comes over to take a look, and points out something I hadn't yet noticed... ALL the jets on my dishwasher are clogged with "crystallized CascadeĀ® detergent". White flakes that are clogging the jets, preventing the water from adequately dispensing the gel from the tray and therefore allowing it to just coat the entire inside of the machine. SOOOOO, I do what he recommends to keep from buying an entirely new machine. I grab my putty knife (yep), and begin scraping this stuff off the inside and making piles of it, and vacuuming it up with a shop vac. The bottom, where the water is circulated through those hundreds of holes, was completely clogged so I took a pipecleaner to each hole. Then I start on the jets. Turns out, these white flakes have completely filled the spray arms. I spent over 10 hours total with many pipecleaners loosening it, and then running it through the outside hole from top to bottom to get them out. I used the shop vac taped to a hollow pen to try getting this stuff out... 10 hours. Then, I did 3 full treatments each of the following: 3 CLR recommended treatments, 3 Vinegar treatments, 3 Bleach treatments, cleaning the jets still periodically DURING each of these ( I work 50 hours also mind you). FINALLY, it was running properly and looked almost new, and my dishes that weren't ruined yet were coming out clean.
Fast forward 60 days to the present time. After running a load of vinegar treatment once per week, I'm back to the EXACT same place I was prior to scraping, vacuuming, piping, treating, piping. I know my dishwasher like I know the way to my bathroom at night. But I REFUSE to do this again (although there's a full CLR load going now). I have never used anything other than Cascade. I see where you have said you "fixed" the crystallizing of your product in the bottle... I could care less about that, I'm concerned with what you can do to: Fix my dishwasher, Keep it from happening anymore, and still clean my dishes.
For those of you still reading, I assume you're as upset and confused as I am how they still are not FIXING the problem. Look at the jet holes in your dishwasher, I would bet money they are clogged with the white crystallized flakes I was talking about, and that's why your dishwasher isn't cleaning properly. Good luck with your pipe cleaning adventures. Oh, and if you have an easier way to break them up without manual labor PLEASE let me know (Vinegar, CLR, and Bleach don't work on their own).
Anxiously awaiting...

Leaves a white film
This product basically ruined all of my dishes. We had been using the Cascade liquid detergent for years, and had no problems. We switched for convenience sake, but all we got were white filmy dishes. Our red pots and pans are permanently dingy, and we have a few red plastic bowls that are ruined. I've tried scrubbing the heck out of them by hand, but nothing will take off this coating. Also, on our dishwasher door, there is permanent residue left behind from the packets. Water temperature is not an issue, and we run the sink until hot before we run the dishwasher. I will not be recommending these packets to anyone.

Watery Cascade w/Dawn Liquid
I bought 3 bottles of the Cacade w/Dawn Liquid 75oz last week and I am very disappointed. I opened the first bottle and started to squeeze some out and I was surprised to see that it was very watery. I tempted to use it in the first load and when the cycle was complete my dishes were still dirty. So I went to the second bottle and I could not believe it but it was the same way. Finally I looked at the code on the back of the bottle, they were the same 20861731032008

No good
These left soap scum all over my dishes, after I stopped using them, I had to scrub several times to get the left over soap off my dishes.
