Tampax Flushable Cardboard Applicator, Multipax Tampons - 54 ct
“bring back the old design”,
December 18, 2010
Pros: cardboard applicator
Cons: leaky due to extra paper, should be more enviro, confusing packaging
I thought it was just me, but reviews from other women on this site and via an online petition demonstrate that the redesigned tampax tampons do not work as well as the previous design. They invariably leak and the previous design did not. I get the sense the redesign was intended to increase profits by making women use more tampons! Also, the box looks too similar to the "Pearl" design. The Pearl has a plastic applicator which I avoid (and object to, unless absolutely necessary for certain women) because of its impact on the environment (both production and disposal). In addition to reintroducing the old design, Tampax should go ahead and brag that it's their most environmentally-friendly product, and source greener materials.

I just threw out yet another pair of underwear because as has been the case with the new tampax, they do not protect at all. They leak all the time, I have had to throw out and clean underwear, pants and now have a cover on my mattress because I was so worried. But I am done and very upset because I used to feel very confident in Tampax. Can you please give a reason why you made this change and why you think it's good?? I have been reading the reviews over the past few years and they all say the same thing. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!
Thank you

“what happened to the cardboard Lites??”,
May 11, 2010
Pros: comfortable
Cons: Low Protection
This new design is terrible. The braid is soaked before the tampon is, always making me feel as if I've leaked. And what the heck happened to the Lites with the cardboard applicator? I can't find them ANYWHERE, unless I want to waste my money buying a multipack. Just the way my body is, I rarely need anything heavier than a lite and no other manufacturer makes a lite except tampax . . . of course I can still buy Tampax Lites as long as I want to throw plastic into the environment and fill up the landfills. This is SO WRONG!!!!
